It’s a race
against time for more than 50 “stump jumpers” on an
obstacle course filled with bumps and jumps – with
two rotations around the track! Three classes will
compete for quickest time: (1) Local Tuff Trucks,
(2) Pro-Arena Trucks and (3) Quads (four-wheel
motorcycles).
Local Tuff Trucks often have the
suspension system changed out to provide for longer
travel, have bigger wheels and tires and have been
stripped to lighten the weight of the vehicle.
Pro-Arena Trucks have been highly modified for
ultimate performance.
Special appearances by roaring monster
trucks, Tropical Thunder and The Patriot!

The Valley Tractor Pullers
Association and John Shipman Motorsports join
together once again at one of the Fair’s favorite
family attractions. Close to 150 “pullers” will test
engines and power in as many as 15 different weight
classes for tractors and four different weight
classes for trucks.
“Sleds” is the word used in the sport to
describe the weight transfer machines that are built
on truck-like frames, with axles and a sled pan on
the front. The movable weight box on the back of the
sled propels forward, creating friction for the
puller that eventually brings him or her to a
complete halt!

trucks, Tropical Thunder and The Patriot!

These animals
don’t take any bull; they were “born to buck.” This
will be a show of thrilling bull riding, cowboys and
clowns. The fearless bull riders will compete to
stay on the bull for at least eight seconds. Two
judges score the rider and the bull. When the rider
stays on the bull for eight seconds he/she receives
a score from both judges, which are added together,
then divided by two for the total. The bull rider
that scores the highest, up to 100 points, wins the
competition.
The rider sits
directly on the bull and holds on tight as the bull
bucks into action trying to buck the rider off.
There is no saddle and the bull rider must ride
holding with one hand. The rider is disqualified if
he/she touches his/her body or the bull during the
eight seconds.
The Humpz and Hornz
Rodeo Company is based in Le Grand, California.
Organizers Wes and Stacey Ibrahimi have been
producing bull riding events for county fairs for
the past 12 years.

Budweiser Clydesdales Arena Show
Thursday, July 31, 6:45 p.m.
FoodMaxx Arena
Hosted by KAT Country 103

Free with the price of Fair admission
The world-famous,
eight-horse-hitch Budweiser Clydesdales are trotting
at the Stanislaus County Fair from Tuesday, July 29,
through closing day. Join us for scheduled Budweiser
Clydesdales parades through the fairgrounds, and a
special show in the FoodMaxx Arena on July 31, at 6
p.m. See the map on page 18 for the parade route,
and check the daily schedules for the parade and
stable times.
Standing at 18 hands high (about 6 feet)
at the shoulder when fully mature, Budweiser
Clydesdales weigh approximately 2,000 pounds. They
must be geldings, bay in color, have four white
stockings and a blaze of white on the face, as well
as a black mane and tail. A gentle temperament also
is important, as hitch horses meet millions of
people each year.
Once a Clydesdale is selected to be
among the chosen few to travel with one of the
company’s five traveling eight-horse hitches, he can
expect to spend many of his days on the road,
performing at hundreds of events each year.
The Clydesdales travel in a style
befitting a king. In order to provide rest for each
of the eight “first-string” horses, the Clydesdale
hitch teams always travel with a total of 10 “gentle
giants.”
