The Hispanic sensations Diego Verdaguer and Amanda Miguel are performing at the 2012 Stanislaus County Fair!

Diego Verdaguer and Amanda Miguel will be performing Sunday, July 22, 2012 on the Budweiser Variety Free Stage. The performance will begin at 8:30 p.m. and is free with the price of Fair admission. Radio Lobo 98.7 and KGAM MAGIA 106.3 FM will be hosting the concert.

Amanda and Diego fell in love in 1979 and have been recording successful music together ever since. Fans of all ages won’t want to miss this power couple take the stage!

The Stanislaus County Fair entry deadlines for 4-H and FFA are May 17^th and May 31^st.

Participants must have their entry forms turned in no later than 5:00 p.m. on the deadline date.

Entry forms may be turned in by mail or in person at 900 N. Broadway in Turlock in the Exhibits Office located in E-2 or online at www.stancofair.com.

The May 17 deadline applies to the following 4-H and FFA Exhibits:

• Horse
• Junior Livestock
• Still Exhibits (except Ag Horticulture, Ornamental Horticulture, FFA Ag Mechanics, Rabbits, Poultry, Cavies, and Dogs)

The May 31 deadline applies to the following 4-H and FFA exhibits:

• FFA Ag Mechanics
• Junior Industrial Arts
• Ag Horticulture
• Ornamental Horticulture

We have a couple really cool new exhibits this year. One is an interactive ag experience for kids in the AgVenture Exhibit. Another one is the new Imagine the Food Exhibit, where local restaurants from our community can demonstrate how to create some of their most delicious dishes and manufacturers and processors will showcase how new technology is helping their businesses!

Discounted Fair tickets, Arena tickets, and discounted ride wristbands are on sale this Saturday, May 5th!

The Fair wants to remind our guests that they can get their discounted adult admission tickets this Saturday, May 5th for $10 (a $12 value) and unlimited ride wristbands for $23 (a $32 value). FoodMaxx Arena tickets will also be available for purchase.

Also, Derby I and Derby II dates have changed to Friday, July 13th and Saturday, July 14th.

Discounted tickets may be purchased from the Fair office located at 900 N. Broadway in Turlock, Valley First Credit Union (Turlock, Modesto, Ceres and Oakdale banks), and from the Stanislaus County Fair website, www.stancofair.com. Discounted tickets will be available from Saturday, May 5th to Thursday, July 12th at 7 p.m. at these locations.

Spend the day at the Turlock Turf Club on May 5^th for the Kentucky Derby!

Come to the Turlock Turf Club to place your bets on the Kentucky Derby through satellite wagering. Turf Club is located on Soderquist Rd. at the Turlock Fairgrounds. Doors open at 8:00 a.m., and admission into the Turf Club is $3.50 a person. Turf Club provides a full snack bar and full bar operated by Smokies Firehouse at the Track.

Try your luck and have some fun! Bets as low as $2! Must be 18 or older to place bets.

The Stanislaus County Fair is looking for local talent to fill its 2012 Community Stage line-up!

The Stanislaus County Fair is seeking local talent to perform for various days on the Health Plan of San Joaquin Community Stage for the 10-day run of the Fair.  The Fair is considering martial arts demonstrations, dance, and musical performances from local clubs and groups. The 2012 Stanislaus County Fair Exhibitor Handbook is now available online.

The county’s largest talent exhibits are back for another year. Enter your favorite hobby, crafts, or art into an exhibit to be displayed at the 2012 Fair. Exhibitors can get entry information at the Stanislaus County Fair office located at 900 N. Broadway Turlock, or online at our website, www.stancofair.com. Handbooks are already available online and copies are available May 1^st at the Fair office. The first deadline is fast approaching as soon as May 17^th!

Talent exhibits and competitions include homemade products such as: Sr. Apple Pie, Jr. Decorated Cookies, Sr. Homemade Salsa, Sr. BBQ Ribs, Jr. Art Contest and so much more. Go to our website for more special contests and exhibits.

The incredibly fun and famous children’s act The Wiggles is coming to the 2012 Stanislaus County Fair!

The Stanislaus County Fair welcomes The Wiggles on Wednesday. July 18, 2012. The Wiggles will be performing on the Budweiser Variety Free Stage and the concert is free with the price of Fair admission. All Variety Free Stage acts begin at 8:30 p.m. The Wiggles concert will be hosted by KHOP 95.1.

The Wiggles is a children’s entertainment act that uses song and dance to engage children in fun and education. The Wiggles were formed 21 years ago in Australia, and they continue to be a success around the world today.

The Stanislaus County Fair is partnering with local classrooms to build on their education.

The Stanislaus County Fair’s “School Involvement Program” gives students an opportunity to work with the Fair and use their imagination through creativity. A different animal is chosen each year for the students to create projects that showcase the animal with fun facts.
