General Information

Reservations:

Kids parties may be scheduled Saturdays (July 26 and August 2) and Sundays (July 27 and August 3) only, so early reservations are encouraged to ensure your first choice date. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to reserve your date. The deposit will be applied to your total package cost. To make your kid’s party reservation contact Special Events Assistant Diane Coryell at 209-667-7024 or email events@stancofair.com. The deadline for party reservations is June 15.

Party Times:

Kids parties may be scheduled Saturdays (July 26 and August 2) and Sundays (July 27 and August 3). Times available are: 12:00 p.m.; 2:00 p.m.; and 4:00 p.m.

Fair Hours:

The 2008 Stanislaus County Fair opens for its 10-day run on Friday, July 25, and continues through Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008. The Fair opens Saturdays and Sundays at noon and weekdays at 5 p.m. Exhibit buildings are open until 11 p.m. each evening.

Party Planner and Adult Chaperones:

The role of the party planner is to work out details such as securing admission tickets, meal tickets, ride wristband(s) and/or ride tickets; but not to act as the on-site party supervisor or chaperone. Each kids party must be accompanied by an adequate number of adult supervisors appropriate to the age of the children. Minimum adult-child ratios suggested are:

  • 1 adult: 1 child (groups with children 6 years of age and younger)
  • 1 adult: 2 children (groups of children 7 – 8 years of age)
  • 1 adult: 4 children (groups of children 9 -12 years of age)
  • 1 adult: 6 children (groups with children 13 years and older)

Pre-Event Package Pick-Up:

No matter your party date, your party package tickets must be picked up on July 21 or July 22, at the Stanislaus County Fair ticket office. The ticket office is located at 900 N. Broadway in Turlock. Ticket office hours for these two dates are 8:30 a.m. until 7p.m.

The balance is due at time of pick-up. Payments can be made by cash, Visa or MasterCard. Checks, however, are not accepted for the final balance.

Parking:

While one parking pass to the North or West parking lots is included with every package, it is important for your guests to understand that the parking lots may fill to capacity on any given day. Parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and cannot be guaranteed.

Upon Your Arrival:

Please have the party host check-in at the Special Events/Sponsor Relations Office at least 45 minutes in advance of your scheduled party time. The office is located near the Costco Commercial Exhibit Building in a blue-grey portable trailer. The Party Planner will direct you to the party tent.

Meeting Your Guests:

Please plan to meet your guest at least 30 minutes in advance of your scheduled party time, to allow adequate time for parking, admission, and to make your way to the designated party tent.

The Fair recommends that you and your party guests carpool to the fairgrounds. If/when meeting your guests at the Fair please plan a meeting spot in advance of your arrival. Please note that if you select a gathering spot inside the Fair’s parking lots, all vehicles entering the parking lot are subject to the standard parking fee of $3, even if the vehicle intends to drop off children and immediately depart.

Therefore, you are encouraged to select a meeting spot outside the Fair’s parking lots. Suggested meeting spots may include:

  1. On North Broadway, at the Fair’s historical white wrought-iron Arch Gate. One of the Fair’s official main entrances is located at this gate.
  2. At the grass area in front of the Fair administration office. The office is located at the corner of Canal and Broadway. One of the Fair’s official main entrances is located just to the right of the Fair office.

Kids Party Tent Area:

The kids party tent is intended to accommodate more than one party at any given time. Therefore, there may be other groups utilizing the tent at time of your party. Your group, however, will have reserved tables within the tent.

Food:

Parties begin with a self-service meal from a designated concession stand near the kids party tent. The package does not include food for the adult party host and/or other chaperones. However, adults may purchase food at the party’s designated concession stand or at other nearby concessions.

We ask that you bring only your taste buds through the turnstiles. No food or drinks can be brought in, regrettably, this includes cakes and cupcakes.

Gifts / Party Favors / Goodie Bags:

Regrettably, there are no storage accommodations for gifts, party favors and/or goodie bags. Therefore, we strongly recommend that gift exchanges and the presentation of party favors and/or goodie bags take place at your home, before or after your party at the Fair. The Fair is not responsible or liable in the unfortunate event that gifts, party favors and/or goodie bags are lost or stolen.

Carnival Rides:

Butler Amusement’s award-winning carnival features more than 35 exciting rides, including 14 rides especially for kiddies. There are some height requirements for rides. See www.stancofair.com (Carnival page) for complete ride description and height requirements. Please be advised that ALL riders must either have a ride wristband or ride coupons to enjoy our rides (each ride requires 3 – 5 coupons). This includes parents/adults accompanying children who do not meet height requirements to ride alone on family rides.

Alligator and Clown (optional):

The judgment of the party host will determine if the alligator and clown/balloon artist visits are appropriate for the children in your group. This entertainment is optional and may be waived by the party host.
