Stanislaus
County Fair announces headliner
Martina McBride and new arena lineup
Turlock--When
Martina McBride pulls into Stanislaus County Fair, she
and her crew won’t be following the always sold-out
Destruction Derby thanks to a new lineup in the
Fair’s arena!
Martina
McBride, 1999 Country Music Association (CMA)
Female Vocalist of the Year will perform at
the Stanislaus
County Fair on Tuesday, July 30, with one
show slated for 8:00 p.m.
Tickets for the concert are $18 for grandstand
seating and $20 for arena floor seating. Tickets go on
sale on Saturday, May 4.
“Martina
McBride is one of the greatest female vocalists in
contemporary popular music,” said Pennie Rorex, Fair
spokeswoman. “We expect this concert to sell out
fast!”
McBride’s
catalog of chart-topping singles includes “Wild
Angels,” “Wrong Again,” “A Broken Wing,” and
“I Love You.”
She has one gold album, three platinum CDs and
a triple platinum collection—all which demonstrate
McBride’s extraordinary talents.
“I’d like to be known as someone who
records songs that are intelligent and emotional,”
says McBride.
The
Destruction
Derby, which has normally been held on Monday
nights during the Fair’s 10-day run, will follow on Thursday,
August 1. Derby
fans, who frequent the Fair regularly on Monday
nights, should mark their calendars now for the
Thursday night event.
Tickets for the Derby, which sells out in hours, also go on sale
Saturday, May 4.
“We
have completely rearranged the arena event schedule
which will allow our maintenance staff ample time to
set up the extravagant staging, sets, dressing rooms,
lighting and sound that our headliners require,”
explained Rorex.
“In past years, our staff has had to work
round-the-clock following the Derby to setup the
extensive concert staging requirements,” Rorex said.
“The new arena lineup will give our
highly-skilled staff ample time to set the concert
staging in advance of opening day.”
