Turlock’s
77-year old Zella Linn sets record for exhibiting at
Fair for 44 years
Turlock
–As the Stanislaus County Fair exhibit deadline
approaches, one of the hundreds of
exhibitors guaranteed to enter is 77-year old Zella
Linn. Linn
will be entering her recipes and arrangements for the
44th consecutive year!
The
Fair has more than rides, shows and great food and
Zella Linn is testimony to that!
She has been entering her jellies, floral
arrangements and baked delicacies since 1958 when she
was pregnant with her first daughter!
“I just love it,” shared Linn, now the
grandmother of two.
“I love the competition and the
excitement!”
The
Stanislaus County Fair offers opportunities for those
pre-kindergarten to senior citizens to exhibit their
talents in areas of livestock, horticulture,
floriculture, fine arts, crafts, photography and home
arts. Participants,
like Linn, are eligible to win cash prizes, ribbons
and even sponsored gifts.
Linn
encourages more competitors to join in the family fun.
“I’d love to see more young exhibitors
participate to carry on the traditions of excellent
exhibits at our county Fair. I know someday I will be unable to participate and I want to
be ensured the Fair’s exhibits program prospers.”
