Riverbank home brewer to suds it up at the Stanislaus
County Fair
Turlock
–As the Stanislaus County Fair exhibit deadline
approaches, one of the hundreds of exhibitors
guaranteed to enter is Bob
DeWitt.
The
Fair has more than rides, shows and great food and Riverbank
resident Bob DeWitt is testimony to that!
DeWitt
is a home brewer and a member of the Hoppy Cappers of
Stanislaus County..
He’s been brewing his own since in 1977.
Some home brewers use real fresh fruit, age in
cold storage for months, and use a variety of
different hops or specialty grains.
But, DeWitt’s recipe is one of a kind.
His brew will be on display at the Stanislaus
County Fair.
The
Stanislaus County Fair offers opportunities for those
pre-kindergarten to senior citizens to exhibit their
talents in areas of livestock, horticulture,
floriculture, fine arts, crafts, photography and home
arts. Participants,
like DeWitt, are eligible to win cash prizes, ribbons
and even sponsored gifts.
DeWitt
encourages more competitors to join in the family fun.
“It’s a good way to get input on your
craft,” said DeWitt. “And, it’s a great way to
get input from others with the same interest.”
