Fair-goers are encouraged to buy their tickets early. “The 2002 Lynyrd Skynyrd concert sold out in less than four days,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair.  “We expect this year’s concerts to sell fast too, so I encourage concert-goers to buy their tickets early!”

There are five convenient ways to purchase arena event tickets:

1.  Stanislaus County Fair office: The fair’s office is located at 900 N. Broadway Avenue in Turlock. The ticket office will be open on Saturday, May 3 (only) from 10 am to 3 pm and then each weekday thereafter from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased with cash, VISA or MasterCard. Checks are not accepted at the fair office.

Important note for fair office ticket sales on May 3: Tickets.com has established random number distribution line control procedures to eliminate “camping out” for a place in line, and to ensure that each ticket customer has an equal chance at being the first in line. This procedure will be in effect at the Fair office, as well as tickets.com outlets on May 4- opening day of ticket sales.

If you are in line between 9 and 9:30 am, you will be given a ticket for a random number drawing to be held to see who will be first in line. Following the drawing of one ticket, those with higher numbers will follow behind in order of their number with the numbers lower than that selected following behind them.

Anyone arriving after 9:30 am will not be included in the drawing and will be behind those holding tickets.

2. Mail order: To request an order-by-mail form visit www.stancofair.com and view the “tickets” page, or call the Fair office at 668-1333 or 524-2660.

3.  Telephone: Arena event tickets can be ordered by telephone by calling 1-800-225-BASS. A    nominal customer convenience fee will be added to the price of the event ticket by tickets.com.

4.  Online: Arena event tickets can be ordered online at www.tickets.com. A nominal customer convenience fee will be added to the price of the event ticket by tickets.com.

5.  Tickets.com Outlets: Arena event tickets can be purchased through ticket outlets which are located in Raley’s Supermarkets in Manteca, Merced, Modesto, Ceres, and Turlock.

Due to popular demand, concert and Destruction Derby tickets are limited to 10 per person/per event on May 3. After May 3, there is no ticket limit.

In addition to arena ticket events, fair gate admission and carnival coupons also go on sale on Saturday, May 3. Fair gate admission and carnival coupons are only available at the Fair office and by mail order.

Pre-sale adult fair admission (available only until July 12) is available for $5 per adult (normally $7 per adult).

Child fair admission (age 6 to 12) is available for $2 per child.

Carnival advance-sale discount unlimited ride coupon is $15 (valid for use on any weeknight, Monday through Friday, and will only be sold until 5:00 p.m. on July 25).

The Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 92nd year.  The 2003 fair opens Friday, July 25 for a       10-day run.  The theme of this year’s fair is “The Place to be in 2003: Saluting the 30th Anniversary of American Graffiti.”

Last year, more than 226,000 family members enjoyed the fair —the largest attendance in the past decade.  In the fall of 2002, Modesto Bee readers voted the Stanislaus County Fair their “Favorite All-Around Event” in the Bee’s Readers’ Choice Awards!

The mission of the Stanislaus County Fair is to provide a family and community oriented experience promoting agriculture, education, entertainment and technology.
