Fair-goers
are encouraged to buy their tickets early. “The 2002
Lynyrd Skynyrd concert sold out in less than four
days,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for the
Stanislaus County Fair.
“We expect this year’s concerts to sell
fast too, so I encourage concert-goers to buy their
tickets early!”
There
are five convenient ways to purchase arena event
tickets:
1.
Stanislaus
County Fair office: The fair’s office is located
at 900 N. Broadway Avenue in Turlock. The ticket
office will be open on Saturday, May 3 (only) from 10
am to 3 pm and then each weekday thereafter from 8:30
am to 4:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased with cash,
VISA or MasterCard. Checks are not accepted at the
fair office.
Important
note for fair office ticket sales on May 3:
Tickets.com has established random number
distribution line control procedures to eliminate
“camping out” for a place in line, and to ensure
that each ticket customer has an equal chance at
being the first in line. This procedure will be in
effect at the Fair office, as well as tickets.com
outlets on May 4- opening day of ticket sales.
If
you are in line between 9 and 9:30 am, you will be
given a ticket for a random number drawing to be
held to see who will be first in line. Following the
drawing of one ticket, those with higher numbers
will follow behind in order of their number with the
numbers lower than that selected following behind
them.
Anyone
arriving after 9:30 am will not be included in the
drawing and will be behind those holding tickets.
2.
Mail order:
To request an order-by-mail form visit www.stancofair.com

office at 668-1333 or 524-2660.
3.
Telephone: Arena event tickets can be ordered by telephone
by calling 1-800-225-BASS. A
nominal customer convenience fee will be added
to the price of the event ticket by tickets.com.
4.
Online:
Arena event tickets can be ordered online at www.tickets.com.
A nominal customer convenience fee will be added to
the price of the event ticket by tickets.com.
5.
Tickets.com Outlets: Arena event tickets can be purchased through
ticket outlets which are located in Raley’s
Supermarkets in Manteca, Merced, Modesto, Ceres, and
Turlock.
Due
to popular demand, concert and Destruction Derby
tickets are limited to 10 per person/per event on May
3. After May 3, there is no ticket limit.
In
addition to arena ticket events, fair gate admission
and carnival coupons also go on sale on Saturday, May

The
Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 92nd year. The 2003 fair opens
Friday, July 25 for a
10-day run.
The theme of this year’s fair is “The Place
to be in 2003: Saluting the 30th
Anniversary of American Graffiti.”
Last
year, more than 226,000 family members enjoyed the
fair —the largest attendance in the past decade.
In the fall of 2002, Modesto Bee readers voted
