The Village People will open the
Stanislaus County Fair!
Turlock—The
Village People, known worldwide for their energetic,
fun hits will kick off 10 days of fun at the Stanislaus
County Fair!
The
Village People, winners of two American Music Awards
and international best sellers for 25 years, will
light up the
Budweiser Variety Free Stage on Friday, July 25
at 8:30 p.m. All concerts on this stage are
included with the price of fair admission.
“Baby
boomers, like me, truly remember dancing the night
away to the great sounds of the Village People at
school dances,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for
the Stanislaus County Fair.
The
Village People’s best selling records make fans want
to dance and shout and sing along. “YMCA,”
“Macho Man” and “In the Navy” are just a few
of the chart-topping hits that helped the Village
People sell over 65,000,000 records!
The
Village People, with three original members, are still
touring the world. They wow audiences who are thrilled
that the campy, vivacious group just “Can’t Stop
the Music”.
The
Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 92nd year.
The 2003
fair opens Friday, July 25 for a 10-day run.
The theme of this year’s fair is “The Place
to be in 2003.”
Last
year, more than 226,000 family members enjoyed the
fair —the largest attendance in the past decade.
In the fall of 2002, Modesto Bee readers voted
the Stanislaus County Fair their “Favorite
All-Around Event” in the Bee’s Readers’ Choice
Awards!
The
mission of the Stanislaus County Fair is to provide a
family and community oriented experience promoting
agriculture, education, entertainment and technology.
