Show off your green thumb at the
Stanislaus County Fair
If you
just spent the weekend dabbling in your garden,
flowerbeds or hothouse, then there’s a plot for you
at the Stanislaus County Fair.
If you
have a green thumb for garden design, berms, planter
boxes or potted plants, enter your budding beauty into
the Stanislaus County Fair.
Or, if you like to arrange—dry or silk
bouquets or cut flowers—there’s a division for
you, too, at your county fair.
But plant this date on your schedule because
the deadline to enter your prize-winning bloomer is
Thursday, July 3—whether you are a tiny tot, of
preschool or school age, or older than that!
Of course, in most divisions you don’t
actually deliver the actual item to the fairgrounds
until fair time.
Here’s a partial list of floriculture
divisions in which you can enter:
Novelty mini gardens, arrangements (dry/silk),
arrangements (fresh), bouquets, cut flowers, tye-dyed
flowers, nature garden scenes, terrariums, pressed
flower books, planter
boxes or wine barrels, window boxes and window sills,
dish gardens, cacti, plants, violets, begonias, herbs,
orchids, roses and more!
Exhibitor
entry forms must be received at the Stanislaus County
Fair office by 5 p.m. on July 3, 2003, or be
postmarked by July 3, 2003.
Handbooks with entry forms are available at the
following locations Turlock locations: Turlock
Library, Valley Distributors, Cloth & Quilts and
in Hilmar at Hilmar Cheese.
Exhibitor
entry forms are also available on-line at www.stancofair.com.
Or,
for more information, contact Harold Whaley,
floriculture superintendent at the Stanislaus County
Fair, at (209) 668-1333.
Be part of the Stanislaus County Fair by
displaying your talents and efforts and the chance to

gifts.
