Local television station seeks area
broadcast
volunteers for Stanislaus County Fair
You’re
not alone if you have tuned into a recorded broadcast
of the Stanislaus County Fair featuring good food,
awesome exhibits and happy people on KAZV TV 14 during
and after the fair. For the past ten years, AZ Video
has offered coverage of the fair on local television.
In
celebration of its 10th anniversary at the
fair, KAZV TV 14 is offering interested volunteers a
chance to guest host for the station. Hosts will
interview fair guests about their experiences at the
Stanislaus County Fair. The shows are taped live and
run on Channel 14 the next day.
There is
still some availability for volunteer hosts who are
able to choose any day or night of the fair, which
runs from July 25 through August 3, 2003.
Hosts are asked to volunteer for one or two
hour shifts.
Qualified
volunteers are anyone who has an interest in
broadcasting or a desire to pass on the fair’s
mission of promoting agriculture, education,
entertainment and technology.
Those
interested in the opportunity to be a guest host
should contact Joey Stedman of Channel 14 at (209)
577-0743. An orientation is required for volunteer
hosts on Wednesday July 23 at 7 pm. The training will
include behind-the-scenes tour of the Stanislaus
County Fair and information about this year’s fair
highlights.
The
Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 92nd year.
The 2003
fair opens Friday, July 25 for a 10-day run.
The theme of this year’s fair is “The Place
to be in 2003: Saluting the 30th
Anniversary of American Graffiti.”
Last
year, more than 226,000 family members enjoyed the
fair—the largest
attendance
in the past decade.
In the fall of 2002, The Modesto Bee readers voted the
Stanislaus
County Fair their “Favorite All-Around Event” in
the Bee’s Readers’ Choice Awards!
The
mission of the Stanislaus County Fair is to provide a
family and community oriented experience promoting
agriculture, education, entertainment and technology.
