Classic
rock band “War” on free stage at Stanislaus County
Fair!
Turlock—“War,”
the multi-platinum, 1960’s rock superstars, will
perform at the 2003 Stanislaus County Fair!
“War”
is well-known for mega hits like “Low Rider,”
“Why Can’t We Be Friends” and “Spill the
Wine.” This concert is slated for Wednesday, July
30, at 8:30 p.m. on the Budweiser Variety Free Stage.
All concerts on this stage are
included with the price of fair admission.
The
seven-piece band “War” was founded in 1969 with a
mission to spread a message of brotherhood and
harmony. This
mission was accomplished—they have released 24
albums and sold 30-million records. “War’s amazing
reputation for high-energy fun and their ability to
knock down cultural and musical barriers seem to be
the key to their success,” said Pennie Rorex,
spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair.
“War”
platinum and gold-selling albums showcase their
ability to fuse rock, jazz, Latin and rhythm and
blues. “War is truly a timeless group whose music
makes people feel good about culture, life and
friendship,” said Rorex.
As
of today, the lineup on the Budweiser
Variety Free Stage includes:

People—Friday, July 25 at 8:30 p.m.

Last
year, more than 226,000 family members enjoyed the
fair —the largest attendance in the past decade.
In the fall of 2002, Modesto
Bee readers voted the Stanislaus County Fair their
