The
Grass Roots—1960’s rock band--in concert at
Stanislaus County Fair!
Turlock—The
Grass Roots are coming to the Stanislaus County Fair
and will give people a reason to sing “Let’s Live
for Today.”
The
Grass Roots, led by Rob Grill, are still as popular as
even after 30 years.
On Saturday, August 2, at 8:00 and 10:00
p.m., on the Budweiser Variety Free Stage, old and
new fans will hear why The Grass Roots are still
favorites today! All concerts on this stage are
included with the price of fair admission.
“The
Grass Roots have sold over 20,000,000 records
worldwide,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for the
Stanislaus County Fair. “And this great band still
thrills fans as much as ever with classic hits and
awesome entertainment!”
The Grass
Roots have set many incredible records.
At one time the band was on the Billboard
charts for 307 straight weeks, they appeared on
“Dick Clark’s American Bandstand” 16 times and
packed the most people into a single, one-act
concert—600,000!
The
Grass Roots have been churning out great hits since
1967, including “Midnight Confessions” and
“Sooner or Later.”

The
Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 92nd year.
The 2003
fair opens Friday, July 25 for a 10-day run.
The theme of this year’s fair is “The Place
to be in 2003: Saluting the 30th
Anniversary of American Graffiti.”
Last
year, more than 226,000 family members enjoyed the
fair—the largest attendance in the past decade.
In the fall of 2002, Modesto Bee readers voted
the Stanislaus County Fair their “Favorite
All-Around Event” in the Bee’s Readers’ Choice
Awards!
The
