rock “Journey!” at the Stanislaus County Fair

rock fans mark your for calendar for August 2 for a
musical “Journey” at the Stanislaus County Fair.
“Journey,”
known for great hits like “”Who’s Cryin’
Now,” “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Open
Arms,” will perform in the FoodMaxx Arena on Monday,
August 2, at 8 p.m. at the Stanislaus
County Fair. Tickets
for the Stanislaus County Fair and the FoodMaxx arena
events go on sale on Saturday, May 1, 2004.
“We
have been waiting for Journey to tour our part of the
state for a long time,” said Pennie Rorex,
spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair.
“This show is going to be a sell out and so
we encourage Journey fans to get their tickets as soon
as they go on sale!”
Journey’s
legacy has spanned nearly 30 years with 18 United
States releases and 50 million in album sales.
The band contains two original members, Ross
Valory and Neal Schon; vocals are performed by Steve
Augeri who replaced Steve Perry after health problems
ended the singer’s stint with the band.
Augeri first recorded with Journey for the
band’s 1998 contribution to the Armageddon
soundtrack – “Remember Me.”
Tickets
for the Journey concert are $22 for reserved
grandstand seating and $25 for reserved arena floor
seating. General admission tickets are $18 for adults
and $9 for children under 12.

The
Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 93rd
year. The
2004 fair opens Friday, July 30 for a 10-day run.
The theme of this year’s fair is “Say
Cheese!”
Last year
more than 225,000 people enjoyed the fair. In 2002 and again in 2003, Modesto Bee readers voted
the Stanislaus County Fair their “Favorite
All-Around Event” in the Bee’s Reader’s
Choice Awards.
