Stanislaus County Fair Idol auditions coming soon!

Turlock–If you want to be the next Stanislaus County Fair Idol then mark your calendar for Saturday, July 17.

Stanislaus County Fair Idol auditions are slated for Saturday, July 17, at the Stanislaus County Fair. Mandatory registration will be held from 7 to 7:30 a.m. in Exhibit Building E-2, located at the fairgrounds at 900 N. Broadway in Turlock.

To eliminate ‘camping out’ for a place in line, and to ensure that interested contestants have an equal chance of an audition, fair officials will use a random number distribution drawing of registrants to determine the 100 contestants to be auditioned.

The Stanislaus County Idol competition is sponsored by Black Oak Casino and will be hosted by KAT Country 103 FM.

Auditions are open to vocalists between 16 and 24 years of age, who reside in the 38th Agricultural Association, which includes all of Stanislaus County and the portion of Merced County north of the Merced River, served by Turlock Irrigation District.

For those 100 contestants selected from the random number distribution drawing, auditions will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. on July 17. Contestants will be judged by a panel involved in the music industry, in addition to Greg Scudder, the 2003 Stanislaus County Fair Idol winner.

The 10 highest rated contestants will become Stanislaus County Fair Idol finalists.  In addition, the audition contestants scoring the 11th, 12th and 13th places will be named runners-up and will be called on to fill vacancies that may arise by one or more of the 10 finalists.

Finalists and runners up must attend the following 2004 mandatory rehearsals and pre-fair performances:
