Stanislaus
County Fair opens Friday, July 30
Turlock
– Bursting at the seams with new features, fun for
kids, free rides for senior citizens, fantastic
entertainment and awesome exhibits, the Stanislaus
County Fair will open on Friday,
July 30 at 5 p.m. for its 10-day
run!
“After
a lot of hard work and renovations, we believe this
will be the best Stanislaus County Fair ever,” said
Tony Leo, chief executive officer of the fair.
“Our goal is to create a family-oriented
experience at the Stanislaus County Fair and we have
accomplished exactly that!”
Entertainment
galore on seven different stages is planned for each
night of the fair, with the return of the extremely
popular Stanislaus County Fair Idol competition.
With this
year’s fair theme “Say Cheese!” be sure to visit
two special features of the fair.
The cheese industry exhibit, located in Save
Mart Home Arts/Ag-Hort Building, and the brand new
Riverbank Chamber Cheese and Wine Garden, located
outside next to the Coors Center Stage.
The cheese industry exhibit will feature cheese
tasting, hosted by a different local cheese company
each night, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The
Riverbank Chamber’s Cheese and Wine Garden will
feature the same local cheese company each night of
the fair, pared with wines for just $4 per glass.
More than
30,000 exhibits, submitted by 8,700 individual
exhibitors, will be on display during the fair’s
10-day run. Exhibits
include arts, crafts, livestock, horticulture,
floriculture and more!
“Our
exhibits program is cornerstone of the Stanislaus
County Fair and is what distinguishes our fair from a
traditional amusement park,” said Leo.
The
Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 93rd
year.
Last
year more than 225,000 people enjoyed the fair.
In 2002 and again in 2003, Modesto Bee
readers voted the Stanislaus County Fair their
“Favorite All-Around Event” in the Bee’s
Reader’s Choice Awards.
The mission of the Stanislaus County Fair is to
provide a family and community oriented experience
promoting agriculture, education, entertainment and
technology. For
