Crystal
Gayle to grace the free stage at the Stanislaus County
Fair
Turlock
–Stanislaus County Fair officials have booked yet
another classy act--Grammy Award winner Crystal Gayle
will perform at the 2004 Stanislaus County Fair.
Crystal
Gayle, known for hits like “Don’t It Make My Brown
Eyes Blue,” Someday” and “All My Tomorrows,”
will perform at the Stanislaus County Fair, at the
Budweiser Variety Free Stage, on Friday, August 6,
at 8:30 p.m. at the Stanislaus County Fair.
All concerts on this stage are included with
the price of fair admission.
“We are
ecstatic to have Crystal Gayle at our fair,” said
Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County
Fair. “She
is such a rock in the music industry. She has
withstood the test of time and she still has the
ability to wow a crowd and we expect there will be
standing room only for this show.”
Gayle,
with her trademarked long hair, has blazed a trail in
the country music world that other artists have
followed. Her
love for country, folk, pop, rock ‘n roll, Broadway
show tunes and gospel are what have influenced her
outstanding musical career.
Her hit list of platinum and gold record sales
are matched by her many awards and accolades.
Gayle
was named CMA’s “Female Vocalist of the Year”
for two consecutive years.
In addition, she became a Grammy Award Winner
for “Best Female Vocal Performance,” thanks to her
beloved “Brown Eyes” – a song that she admits
she has never grown tired of singing.
Gayle
swept the Academy of Country Music Awards for three of
their “Top Female Vocalist” statuettes.
She has also been the recipient of three
American Music Awards–voted by the nation as
