Calling
all independent junior beef exhibitors
Turlock
– If
you raise beef, but are not a member of 4-H or FFA,
you can still show your animal at the Stanislaus
County Fair.
Independent
exhibitors (non 4-H or non FFA members), who are at
least 9 years old, or in the 4th grade by
January 1, 2004, and are currently living within the
38th District Agriculture Association
boundaries are eligible to compete/exhibit at the
Stanislaus County Fair. The deadline to register is
Thursday, April 1, 2004.
Independents can enter appropriate FFA or 4-H
classes as long as they meet the age or grade
requirements and if that class is not offered in any
other junior area.
Independent Exhibitors entering market animals
must register their entries with the fair, 120 days
prior to the fair for beef, and provide the fair
management with:
-
Pictures
of the front view and a view of both sides of the
animal
-
A
copy of the bill of sale or cancelled check for
each animal
-
Permanent
tag/tattoo information
“The
fair welcomes all youths interested in exhibiting
their animals,” said Mark Anglin, livestock
superintendent for the Stanislaus County Fair.
“We welcome everyone meeting the requirements
for this program to exhibit at the Stanislaus County
Fair.”
All independent junior exhibitors must have
project management records and proof of supervision
available as to the length of the project.
They must also have insurance, which is
available through the Stanislaus County Fair.
Independent junior exhibitors must also have
“on ground” supervision by a responsible adult
during the run of the 10-day fair.
For a
registration form, call Patty Anglin in the Stanislaus
County Fair Livestock office at (209) 632-2557.
Registration forms are due April 1, 2004 by 5
p.m.
