ZOEgirl to perform on the free stage at the Stanislaus County Fair

Turlock - The Christian music chart-toping group “ZOEgirl” will perform at the 2004 Stanislaus County Fair!

“ZOEgirl,” known for hits like “Different Kind of Free,” Nick of Time” and “Plain” will perform on Monday, August 2, at 8:30 p.m. on the Budweiser Variety Free Stage at the Stanislaus County Fair.  All concerts on this stage are included with the price of fair admission.

“ZOEgirl has the ability to strike a nice balance of pop and R&B with Christian music,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair.  “We are excited to have a group that brings such a positive message to the fair.”

The three-member group includes Chrissy Conway, Alisa Girard and Kristin Swinford, all original members.  The focus of their music is to fill a void in pop music while bringing to light the issues that face young girls.  The themes of their newest album “Different Kind of Free” are empowerment and freedom.  ZOEgirl is all about providing young people with truth.  “If someone with values isn’t willing to be a role model, then somebody without values is,” said group member Kristin Swinford.  “We want to give these kids more than just a show.  We’ve got to give them the truth.”
