The
Ben Taylor Band to open for Sugar Ray
Turlock
– Pop music fans mark your calendars now for The Ben
Taylor Band, opening for headliner Sugar Ray at the
Stanislaus County Fair.
Born the
son of music superstars James Taylor and Carly Simon,
Ben Taylor and his band are up and coming music
sensations themselves. The Ben Taylor Band, known for songs like, “It’s
a Good Day to Be Alive,” “I am the Sun,” and
“Let it Grow,” will perform on Sunday, August 1,
at 8 p.m. opening for Sugar Ray in the FoodMaxx
Arena at the Stanislaus County Fair.
Reserved
seat tickets for the Stanislaus County Fair
FoodMaxx arena events went on sale Saturday, May 1 and
are selling fast.
Tickets for Sugar Ray and The Ben Taylor Band
concert are just $18 for reserved grandstand seating
and $20 for reserved arena floor seating.
“Sugar
Ray and the Ben Taylor Band—what a fantastic
combination,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for
the Stanislaus County Fair.
“This show is going to be a highlight of the
fair. The
band’s unique sound has proven to be a crowd pleaser
all over the country.”
The Ben
Taylor Band released their debut album “Famous Among
the Barns,” on February 18, 2003, and received rave
reviews. The
band’s main inspiration is from “everyday
happenings”: emotions, relationships, even the glory
of the great outdoors that surrounds them.
The band’s founder and lead singer, Ben
Taylor, explains, “It’s just like every other idea
that comes to you , it gives you a little tickle and
you go, okay, is this something that everyone wonders
about or worries about?”
“Ideally, what I want to write about are
things that have relevance not just in my life but in
a universal sense as well,” said Taylor. “I want people to listen to our songs and feel or discover
something new about themselves or the world we live
in. That’s
the power of music…”
