HOOBASTANK TO HEADLINE STANISLAUS COUNTY FAIR
Turlock – Stanislaus County Fair officials
have added hot rock group Hoobastank with opening
act Uncle Kracker to the 2005 fair headliner concert
lineup.
Hoobastank,
known for hits like “Crawling in the Dark,” “Running
Away” and “The Reason” will headline at the
Stanislaus County Fair on Sunday, July 31 at 8
p.m. in the FoodMaxx Arena. Opening for
Hoobastank will be special guest star Uncle Kracker
who is known for hits like “Follow Me,” “Drift
Away,” and his duet with country music superstar
Kenney Chesney “When the Sun Goes Down.”
Tickets for reserved seating for
the Stanislaus County Fair’s FoodMaxx Arena events
go on sale on Saturday, May 7, 2004.
“The Hoobastank and Uncle Kracker
concert is certain to be one hot ticket,” said
Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County
Fair. “Hoobastank is an extremely popular rock
group and Uncle Kracker has a sound that is uniquely
his own. “My advice to Hoobastank and Uncle Kracker
fans is to get your tickets fast because this show
will sell quickly!”
Although their name is abnormal, the
four guys that make up Hoobastank are normal guys
who speak for and to the things that normal kids
think and feel. They exploded into the rock music
scene in 2001 with their first album going platinum
thanks to two great hit singles.
Hoobastank’s guitarist Dan Estrin,
bassist Markku Lappalainen, drummer Chris Hesse and
singer Doug Robb attribute their success to the fact
that they never take themselves too seriously.
“We’re not afraid to make fun of ourselves,” said
Robb.
Uncle
Kracker, (Matt Shafer), is Kid Rock’s former disc
jockey and hype man. His rendition of Dobie Gray’s
“Drift Away” caused his second album, No Stranger to
Shame, to be chart-topping in 2002. His first
album, Double Wide went double-platinum in 2000.
His current album is 72 and Sunny and is the most
fully realized album to date with the single
“Rescue.”
Tickets for the Hoobastank/Uncle Kracker
concert are $19 for reserved grandstand seating and
$23 for reserved arena floor seating.
