AARON
TIPPIN TO OPEN THE STANISLAUS COUNTY FAIR
Turlock--Stanislaus
County Fair officials have booked the hot country star
Aaron Tippin to open the 2005 Stanislaus County Fair!
Tippin,
known for hits like “Where the Stars and Stripes and
the Eagle Fly,” “You’ve Got to Stand for
Something” and “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong with
the Radio,” will perform on Friday, July 29, at 8:30
p.m. on the Budweiser
Variety Free Stage at the Stanislaus County Fair.
All concerts on this stage are included with
the price of fair admission.
“We are
delighted to have this country sensation perform at
the Stanislaus County Fair,” said Pennie Rorex,
spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair.
“Our fair guests know that they can count on
10 days of chart-topping celebrity entertainment. The
Aaron Tippin concert will be a great way to kick off
the tradition of great music at the Stanislaus County
Fair.”
Tippin’s
title track off his latest CD “Where the Stars and
Stripes and the Eagle Fly,” zoomed to No. 2 on the Billboard
chart. He
donated the proceeds from the single to the American
Red Cross to distribute to the victims of September
11. Tippin’s
career was launched under a banner of patriotism when
his debut single, “You’ve got to Stand for
Something” reached the Top Ten in 1991 and became an
anthem for a nation embroiled in the conflict of
Desert Storm.
The
Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 94th
year. The
2005 fair opens Friday, July 29 for a 10-day run.
The theme of this year’s fair is “Tropical
Nights and Midway Lights.”
Last year
more than 225,000 people enjoyed the fair. In 2002 and again in 2003, Modesto Bee readers voted
the Stanislaus County Fair their “Favorite
All-Around Event” in the Bee’s Reader’s
Choice Awards.
The
mission of the Stanislaus County Fair is to provide a
family and community oriented experience promoting
agriculture, entertainment and technology.
