ROCK AND ROLL HALL-OF-FAMER
JOHN FOGERTY
ADDED AS 3RD HEADLINER AT THE STANISLAUS COUNTY FAIR
Turlock
– Stanislaus County Fair officials have just
booked Hall-of-Famer and rock legend John Fogerty to
be the 3rd headliner at the 2005 fair.
Fogerty, known for
hits like “Proud Mary,” “Bad Moon Rising,” “Run
through the Jungle,” “Centerfield” and “Who’ll Stop
the Rain” will perform on Monday, Aug. 1, at
8 p.m. at the Stanislaus County Fair.
Tickets for the John Fogerty concert,
hosted by The Hawk 104.1, go on sale at 10
a.m. on Wednesday, June 15. Tickets for the John
Fogerty concert are $27 for reserved grandstand
seating and $31 for reserved arena floor seating.
General admission
tickets (on sale the day of the event only,
beginning at 5 p.m.) are $20 for adults and $14 for
children ages 12 and under.
Stanislaus County Fair
discount gate and carnival tickets, and tickets for
the two other celebrity headliner concerts and motor
sport events, are already on sale.
“We had already hit a
home run when we booked the Lonestar and Hoobastank
concerts,” said Tony Leo, chief executive officer of
the Stanislaus County Fair. “The addition of the
John Fogerty concert makes this year’s line-up truly
a grand slam.”
Fogerty is considered
one of the greatest singer-songwriters in American
history. He recorded many of his great songs as the
leader of the now legendary band “Creedence
Clearwater Revival.” Fogerty blends rockabilly,
rhythm and blues, swamp rock and country music into
a potent mix that quickly became his own. Creedence
Clearwater Revival split in 1972, and Fogerty
started a more low-key solo career. In 1984, Fogerty
returned in stunning form with the award-winning
album “Centerfield.” This was the welcome return of
a great American artist to his rightful place.
