AIR
SUPPLY AT THE STANISLAUS COUNTY FAIR
Turlock
– Stanislaus
County Fair officials are planning another fair
bursting at the seams with free entertainment,
including the 1980’s stars “Air Supply.”
“Air
Supply,” known for hits like “Lost in Love,”
“All Out of Love” and “Every Woman in the
World,” is slated to perform on the Budweiser
Variety Free Stage on Saturday,
July 30, at 8:30
p.m. at the Stanislaus County Fair.
All concerts on this stage are included with the price of fair admission.
“‘Air
Supply’ is a great musical group who had withstood
the test of time,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson
for the Stanislaus County Fair.
“We are excited that they will be performing
at the fair and know that their fans will not be
disappointed.”
Russell
Hitchcock and Graham Russell are the musical partners
behind “Air Supply” and met while appearing
together in an Australian production of “Jesus
Christ Superstar.”
Since 1976, “Air Supply” has been probing
the many dimensions of life and touching the hearts of
people everywhere.
“It wasn’t always fashionable to sing our
kind of music, but we’ve always stuck to our guns,
and, I think, maintained our integrity,” said
Russell.
The
Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 94th
year. The 2005 fair opens
Friday, July 29 for a 10-day run.
The theme of this year’s fair is “Tropical
Nights and Midway Lights.”
Last year more than 225,000 people enjoyed the
fair. In
2002 and again in 2003, Modesto Bee readers
voted the Stanislaus County Fair their “Favorite
All-Around Event” in the Bee’s Reader’s
Choice Awards.
The
mission of the Stanislaus County Fair is to provide a
family and community oriented experience promoting
agriculture, entertainment and technology.
