INDEPENDENT
EXHIBITOR DEADLINE APPROACHES
Turlock
– The
deadline for independent junior livestock exhibitors
to register for the 2005 fair is Thursday, March 30,
2005.
Independents (non 4-H or non FFA members), who
are at least 9 years old, or in the 4th
grade as of January 1, 2005, and are currently living
within the 38th District Agriculture
Association boundaries, are eligible to
compete/exhibit at the Stanislaus County Fair. Independents
can enter appropriate FFA or 4-H classes as long as
they meet the age or grade requirements and if that
class is not offered in any other junior area.
Independent exhibitors entering market beef
animals must register their entries with the fair
120 days prior to the fair and provide specific
documentation.

Registration forms are due March 30, 2005 by 5
p.m.
The
Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 94th
year. The 2005 fair opens
Friday, July 29 for a 10-day run.
The theme of this year’s fair is “Tropical
Nights and Midway Lights.”
Last year more than 225,000 people enjoyed the
fair. In
2002 and again in 2003, Modesto Bee readers
voted the Stanislaus County Fair their “Favorite
All-Around Event” in the Bee’s Reader’s
Choice Awards.
The

family and community oriented experience promoting
agriculture, entertainment and technology.
