AVALON
TO PERFORM AT THE STANISLAUS COUNTY FAIR
Turlock
– The
Grammy-nominated Christian group “Avalon” will
perform at the 2005
Stanislaus County Fair!
“Avalon,”
known for hits like “New Day,” “Everything to
Me” and “Undeniably You” will perform on Monday,
August 1, at 8:30 p.m. on the Budweiser
Variety Free Stage at the Stanislaus County Fair.
The concert will be hosted by Celebration Radio
101.5 KAMB and is included with the price of fair admission.
“We
are ecstatic that Avalon will perform at this year’s
fair,” said Pennie Rorex, spokesperson for the
Stanislaus County Fair.
“Their adult contemporary sound along with
their positive message will be a hit with a broad
range of fair guests.”
The four
member group includes Greg Long, Janna Long, Jody
McBrayer and Melissa Greene.
With 20 number one singles, two Grammy
nominations, 20 Dove nominations and three Dove
Awards, it’s no wonder this group has been around
for over 9 years!
“There
were all these ideas that we were this pre-fab,
too-polished group that wouldn’t last, but even
after 9 years, I look at everything we’ve been
through, especially this season of change, and I see
how God has been continually working things out in all
of us,” said Janna Long.
“I feel like we’re in that spring, after
the long winter, when everything begins to wake up, to
come back to life.
We’re in such a good place.”
As of
today, the lineup on the Budweiser
Variety Free Stage includes:
-
Aaron
Tippin – Friday, July 29 at 8:30 p.m.
-
Air
Supply – Saturday, July 30 at 8:30 p.m.

Nights and Midway Lights.”
Last year more than 225,000 people enjoyed the
