BUYERS INVITED TO MOCK
AUCTION
Turlock – Learn
how a wave to a friend can actually be construed as
a bid at a special training
session planned especially for auction buyers.
The Stanislaus County Fair’s Junior
Livestock Auction Booster/Buyer Training is slated
for Tuesday, May 31 at 6 p.m. at the Turlock Turf
Club, located on the corner of Fulkerth and
Soderquist. The fun yet educational training
includes a hosted dinner sponsored by American
AgCredit. Advance registration is required by May
20. Interested parties can register by phoning the
Fair office at 668-1333. Seating is limited so
advance registration is encouraged.
“We have found that business
representatives and community members turn out in
great numbers for the fairs annual livestock
auction,” said Mark Anglin, Stanislaus County Fair
livestock superintendent. “However, often times it
is a parent’s first auction, or an individual has
been sent by his or her company to purchase an
animal, having never done so in the auction
environment before,”
“Our buyer training and dinner is the
perfect opportunity to share with prospective buyers
what to expect—we do so with simple instruction and
a really lively mock auction.”
The training is open to anyone who may
be interested in purchasing an animal at the fair’s
annual Junior Livestock Auction during the 10-day
run of the fair.
