STANISLAUS COUNTY FAIR TICKETS GO ON SALE MAY 6

            Turlock – Be sure your plans for the first Saturday in May include buying tickets for the 2006 Stanislaus County Fair.  

            Stanislaus County Fair tickets, including the Lee Ann Womack and Huey Lewis and the News concerts, the always sold-out destruction derby and discount admission and carnival tickets, all go on sale Saturday, May 6, beginning at 10 a.m.

            “We expect that the Lee Ann Womack and Huey Lewis and The News concerts will sell very fast,” said Tony Leo, chief executive officer of the Stanislaus County Fair.  “Our fair guests know that the celebrity entertainment at their Stanislaus County Fair is always the best.  Because of the caliber of the acts that we bring in, tickets are in high demand.”

            “Other fast-sellers are the two destruction derbies—Derby I: Traditional Turmoil and Derby II: Metal Mayhem.  Last year, Derby I sold out in less than 20 minutes, with Derby II ultimately a sell-out too.”

            Events in the fair’s FoodMaxx Arena are:

·        Tuff Truks: Friday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m. - $8 grandstand seating

·        Truck and Tractor Pulls:  Saturday, July 29 at 7 p.m. - $8 grandstand seating

·        Lee Ann Womack with special guest Ronnie Milsap: Monday, July 31 at 8 p.m. - $23 arena floor, $19 grandstand seating

·        Huey Lewis and the News with special guest Paul Thorn: Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 8 p.m. - $23 arena floor, $19 grandstand seating

·        Destruction Derby I: Traditional Turmoil: Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m. - $12 grandstand seating

·        Destruction Derby II: Metal Mayhem: Thursday, Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. - $10 grandstand seating

·        CCPRA Rodeo: Friday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. – Free with the price of fair admission

·        Motocross Competition: Saturday, Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m. - $8 grandstand seating

·        Cavalcade of Wagons: Sunday, Aug. 6 at 5 p.m. – Free with the price of fair admission

·        Mule Pack Scramble: Sunday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. – Free with the price of fair admission
 

            There are five convenient ways to purchase arena event tickets:

1.      Tickets.com Internet Purchase site: www.tickets.com, a nominal customer convenience fee will be added to the price of the event ticket by tickets.com.

2.      Telephone Orders, through tickets.com by calling 1-800-225-2277.  A nominal customer convenience fee will be added to the price of the event ticket by tickets.com.

3.      Tickets.com Ticket Centers, at select Raley’s Supermarkets, including, but not limited to the following locations: Manteca – 1280 Lathrop Rd; Merced – 3552 N “G” Street; Modesto – 3430 Tully Rd and 1611 E. Hatch Rd; Turlock – 2900 Geer Rd.  Call 1-800-225-2277 for additional Ticket Center locations. A nominal customer convenience fee will be added to the price of the event ticket by tickets.com.

4.      Stanislaus County Fair Ticket Office (tickets.com) outlet. No tickets.com customer convenience fee at Fairgrounds outlet.  Payment must be by cash, VISA or MasterCard. Checks are not accepted.

5.      Mail Order, through the Fairgrounds Office.  To request an order-by-mail form please e-mail or call the fair office at 668-1333 or 524-2660.

Important! On opening day of tickets sales (May 6) Destruction Derby I, Destruction Derby II and headliner concert tickets will be limited to ten (10) per person and/or per credit card per event/show

In addition to arena event tickets, discount adult fair admission and child fair admission tickets also go on sale May 6.  Plus, save up to 32 percent on carnival advanced sale pay-one-price unlimited ride wristbands on sale beginning the first Saturday in May, too.  These items are only available through the fair office in person, by mail order or through the fair’s website: www.stancofair.com.

  • Discount Adult Fair Admission (available only until 7/15/06 at this price) is available for $6 per adult ($8 per adult after 7/15/06).

  • Child Fair Admission (age 6 to 12) is available for $3 per child.

  • Carnival Advanced Sale Pay-One-Price Unlimited Ride Wristband is available for $17 (available for purchase only until 5 p.m. on 7/28/06).  Advanced Sale Wristband good for unlimited rides on any day of the fair during carnival open hours.

The Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 95th year. The 2006 fair opens Friday, July 28 for a 10-day run. The theme of this year’s fair, “Pig Out on Family Fun,” is sure to provide a good time for kids and adults alike. The fair has twice been honored with Modesto Bee Reader’s Choice Awards for “Favorite All-Around Event.”
