Turlock,

The following is a statement, not a
question: Guess Who is coming to the 2007
Stanislaus County Fair.

The Guess
Who will rock the

“The Guess
Who brings classic rock to today’s
generation,” said Pennie Rorex, fair
spokesperson. “We are excited to welcome
such a powerful band that has been pumping
out hit after hit for more than 40 years.”
The group’s first single and album, “Shakin’
All Over,” sold 2 million copies. It has
been solid gold success ever since.
Experimenting with the sounds of freedom,
psychedelic and garage rock, Guess Who
recorded “His Girl,” giving the band a Top
20 hit in England. In 1970, their
hit song “American Woman” landed them a
number one single in the United States,
unseating The Beatles for three weeks
straight.
To
understand the scope of the bands’ success,
one must know that the Guess Who scored a
number one song with both songs on their
double-sided single. In addition to the
Guess Who, this fete was only accomplished
by Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones,
and Creedence
Clearwater Revival.
Today, the
emergence of classic rock radio stations
throughout America has broadened the
base of the group’s loyal followers to
include more of the baby boomer generation
and young teenagers. Guess
Who’s versatility
in sound and music keeps fans from ages 16
to 60 years old selling out their concerts.
Their popularity only continues to increase,
evidenced by the bands’ highly regarded
reputation.
The Guess
Who is just one of 10 free celebrity
concerts to be hosted by the 2007 Stanislaus
County Fair. The Budweiser Variety Free
