CALLING
ALL REPTILE AND INSECT LOVERS

Turlock, CA— If you have affection for alligators, pythons and insects then you will be in love with the volunteer opportunity at this year’s Stanislaus County Fair.

The Stanislaus County Fair is seeking volunteers to assist at the Brad’s World Reptiles interactive educational exhibit during this year’s fair.  The theme of this year’s fair is “Summer Safari,” so fair officials have booked an indoor exhibit that will feature some of the world’s most beautiful and exotic reptiles. The zoo-quality exhibit includes showstoppers such as alligators, large pythons (including albinos), beautiful parrots, huge live insects and many other fascinating creepy crawlies and reptile artifacts!

Officials from Brad’s World Reptiles will train volunteers to talk with fair guests about the animals, reptiles and insects and to handle certain reptiles that will be available for fair guests to touch.

Volunteers must be age 16 or over, must have their own transportation and must be able to stand for several hours at a time.  In addition, volunteers must be available during daytime hours on Wednesday, July 25, for a four hour mandatory volunteer training.

During the 10-day run of the fair, July 27 through August 5, volunteers will be scheduled for five or more shifts.  Weeknight shifts are from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and weekend shifts are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.  Complimentary fair admission and parking is provided on days and nights worked.

To sign-up as a volunteer, email publicrelations@stancofair.com or contact Kristin Parker at 668-1333 x336 by no later than Friday, July 20 at 5 p.m.
