Turlock, CA— The Stanislaus County Fair has booked the best of Christian music for the price of, well… none!

Mark Schultz, a songwriter who is equally skilled in capturing the souls of songs, and Big Daddy Weave, a five men band, will play the Stanislaus County Fair Budweiser Variety Free Stage on Monday, July 30 at 8:30 p.m.  The concert will be hosted by Celebration Radio 101.5 KAMB. All Stanislaus County Fair concerts are included with the price of admissions.

“Mark Schultz music is beautiful, original and has an earthy element that is really been well received in the Christian music industry,” said Pennie Rorex, fair spokesperson.  “We’re going all out that night with the addition of Big Daddy Weave in concert, too.  It’s going to be a wonderful night for Christian music fans.” 

In just six years, Shultz has become one of the industry’s most successful songwriters. Schultz can be heard in mainstream radio, earning an AC award with “He’s My Son.”  He has been nominated over 15 times for a Dove Award but his recent success, “Live…A Night of Stories and Songs,” won the 2006 Gospel Music Association Dove Award for music video of the year.  He also took the No. 1 spot on Billboard Magazine’s Hot Christian Adult Contemporary Songwriters list. 

Big Daddy Weave’s heartfelt music is one of the most popular bands in Christian music.  “One and Only” was the group’s 2002 debut release and it quickly cracked SoundScan’s Christian Top 5.  The band received a Dove Award nomination for New Artist of the Year.  “Field of Grace,” was a stunning display of pure power pop from the band with fresh faith of God’s grace through the bands’ music. 

The Stanislaus County Fair is now in its 96^th year. The 2007 fair opens Friday, July 27 for a 10-day run. The theme of this year’s fair, “Summer Safari,” will provide a great adventure for kids and adults alike.
