LIVESTOCK AND RV PARKING
CHANGES AT THIS YEAR’S FAIR
Turlock, CA (March 4, 2010)
– The Stanislaus County Fair
date change has caused
livestock deadlines to also
alter.
This year’s Fair will kick
off on Friday, July 16, 2010
for a 10-day run. The Fair
board was faced with the
decision to change the date
because the State Fair moved
their August Fair to July
2010, overlapping with
Stanislaus’ traditional late
July Fair.
Accompanying
the Fair’s date change are
some other modifications
including a change to the
junior livestock schedule.
These changes can be found
on our website at
www.stancofair.com/exhibits.
The list also includes
changes to the RV parking
routines, including a
limited number of sites.
Mandatory Bovine TB
(Tuberculosis) testing is
required for all dairy
exhibition cattle sold at
California Fairs. Effective
immediately, the California
Department of Food and
Agriculture (CDFA) requires
that exhibitors provide
proof of TB testing for all
dairy breeding cattle over
six months of age that are
to be sold at the Fair. One
of the following documents
must be provided:
1.
Signed documentation from a
licensed accredited
veterinarian of a negative
TB test obtained within
60-days prior to the sale.
2.
Signed documentation from a
licensed accredited
veterinarian of a negative
whole herd TB test for the
animal’s herd of origin
(i.e., the herd where the
animal has resided for a
minimum of a four month
period of time immediately
prior to the sale) obtained
within 12-months prior to
the sale.
3.
A letter from the CDFA
verifying the completion
date of a negative whole
herd TB test within 12
months prior to the sale and
specifying the official
identification of the
exhibition animal(s).
TB testing
documentation must be
verified before exhibition
animals are unloaded on the
fair premises. View the list
of this year’s changes at

The 2010 Fair theme is

theme will highlight food
and beverage products that
are processed in the Central
Valley. The 2010 Fair will
also feature the
highly-popular Rainforest
Adventure, sponsored by Sky
Trek Aviation, which debuted
in 2009. Also planned for
2010 are ten nights of free
concerts on the Budweiser
Variety Free Stage that are
included with admission,
nightly metal-mashing
motorsports in the FoodMaxx
Arena, rodeo events, five
stages of live
entertainment, more than
30,000 local exhibits and
