Welcome to the Performing Arts Showcase! a brand-new exhibit department at the Stanislaus County Fair.

Taking place on July 11th - ART DAY, this exciting new showcase invites performers of all ages to step into the spotlight and share their talents with the community.

Whether you sing, dance, act, play an instrument, perform spoken word, or bring another unique talent to the stage, we’re proud to celebrate creativity in all its forms. The Performing Arts Showcase is designed to be a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment where participants can shine, gain experience, and connect with fellow artists.

Entry Deadline: Thursday, May 28th, by 11:00 p.m. (online only)
Performance Day: Art Day, Saturday, July 11th, 12:00pm – 8:00pm

Performing Arts Showcase Handbook

All participants must review the official handbook for complete rules, categories, judging criteria, and event procedures. Please read thoroughly prior to participating to ensure a smooth and successful experience.





Dance

Ready to take the stage? The Dance category at the Stanislaus County Fair is your chance to showcase your rhythm, style, and stage presence on July 11, 2026 during ART DAY on the Center Stage.

Divisions

  • Division 7001: Solo/Duo
  • Division 7002: Group

Age Classes

  • Class 1 – Youth: Ages 5–12
  • Class 2 – Intermediate: Ages 13–17
  • Class 3 – Adult: Ages 18+

Performance Guidelines

  • 1:30–3 minutes
  • Family-appropriate music (MP3 submitted in advance)
  • Duo/Group entries must list all performers
  • Performance times scheduled prior to the Fair
  • Costumes and choreography must be family-appropriate.
  • No Props may be used

Vocal

Step up to the mic and let your voice be heard at the Stanislaus County Fair! The Vocal category showcases live singing performances on July 11, 2026 during ART DAY on the Center Stage.

Perform a cappella or with accompaniment and show off your tone, pitch, and interpretation. Judges will focus on vocal quality, accuracy, and overall performance.


Divisions

  • Division 7003: Solo/Duet
  • Division 7004: Group

Age Classes

  • Class 1 – Youth: Ages 5–12
  • Class 2 – Intermediate: Ages 13–17
  • Class 3 – Adult: Ages 18+

Performance Guidelines

  • 1–3 minutes
  • Backing tracks must be MP3 format
  • No lead vocals on backing tracks
  • Performance times scheduled prior to the Fair
  • Basic sound support and microphone will be provided.
  • Accompaniment is permitted but must be noted on the entry form.

Theatre

Lights up! The Theatre category at the Stanislaus County Fair brings live dramatic performances to the Center Stage on July 11, 2026 during ART DAY.

From powerful monologues to dynamic scenes and musical theatre selections, this division celebrates storytelling and stage presence. Judges will evaluate character interpretation, vocal projection, and overall commitment to the material.

  • Division 7005: Monologue/Duet
  • Division 7006: Scene

Age Classes

  • Class 1 – Youth: Ages 5–12
  • Class 2 – Intermediate: Ages 13–17
  • Class 3 – Adult: Ages 18+

Performance Details

  • Live performance on Center Stage
  • Exhibitors will be contacted prior to the Fair to submit their script
  • Performance times scheduled in advance
  • Performances must not exceed 4 minutes.
  • All material must be family-appropriate.
  • Props must be handheld and may not require stage setup.

Instrumental

Turn up the volume and take the stage at the Stanislaus County Fair! The Instrumental category showcases live musical performances on July 11, 2026 during ART DAY on the Center Stage.

From soloists to small ensembles, this division highlights technical skill, musicality, and stage presence. Acoustic and electronic instruments are welcome.

  • Division 7007: Solo
  • Division 7008: Duet/Trio
  • Division 7009: Small Group (3–10 performers)

Age Classes

  • Class 1 – Youth: Ages 5–12
  • Class 2 – Intermediate: Ages 13–17
  • Class 3 – Adult: Ages 18+

Performance Details

  • 2–4 minutes
  • Performers must provide their own instruments
  • Stage plot required prior to the Fair
  • Performance times scheduled in advance

Bring your instrument, bring your sound, and make the Fair your stage.





Live Art

Create it. Finish it. Display it — all in one day at the Stanislaus County Fair.

Division 7010 – Live Art is a timed, on-site competition where artists complete an original painting or drawing live during ART DAY on July 11, 2026.

Artists will work from 12:00 PM (noon) to 6:00 PM to create their piece in front of Fair guests. Judging focuses on technical skill, creativity under pressure, and the quality of the final artwork.


What’s Provided

  • One 36” x 36” pre-gessoed canvas

What to Bring

  • Your preferred medium (paint, pencils, mixed media, etc.)

Completed artwork will remain on display through the end of the Fair and may be picked up on the official exhibit pick-up day. Exhibitors will be contacted prior to the Fair to coordinate entry and setup details.


Age Classes

(Live Art is open to Intermediate and Adult exhibitors only.)

  • Class 1 – Intermediate: Ages 13–17
  • Class 2 – Adult: Ages 18+
